Lester is not just challenged by the rigors of triathlon training, he is paralyzed in his right arm. The swimming portions of the triathlons are the most challenging for Lester.
“They are all swimming with two arms,” said Lester. “I make up for it in the bike and run. It’s like a Pac-Man game where I just start chomping them down.”
There is always the delicate balance of work and everything life entails, then squeezing time out of the day for one’s exercise regime. For Lester, his work is his exercise regime and for the last three years he has been doing it to fulfill a self-realized destiny.
He just finished his 2007 racing year with three national triathlon races and two international races, all the while filming a documentary about what it takes to be a triathlete called “A Painted Race.”
